Discuss how nerves are what help us feel things and figure out what we are touching. Some parts of the body have lots of nerves while other parts have fewer or no nerves.
Experiment:Take a tomato, apple, and jalapeno and demonstrate the density and sensitivity of nerves using the teacher.Blindfold the teacher and perform the following nerve experiments:have the teacher hold their nose and put each object up to their nose and see if they can figure out what the object is.Repeat this by rubbing each object on her elbow. The teacher will not be able to figure out what the objects are.Next, allow the teacher to feel each object in their hands—they will now be able to identify the objects.
This experiment demonstrates the capacity and sensitivity of nerves.
