Austin City Council EWeek 2008 Proclamation

Thursday evening, February 14th, Barbara tenBrink, Jose Guerrero, and Rick McMaster accepted the proclamation from Mayor Will Wynn for EWeek 2008.
It reads,
Be it known that Whereas, Engineers from Austin and the Central Texas area will begin visiting classrooms during this special week to help students "Discover Engineering" and to cultivate an interest in science-, technology-, engineering- and mathematics-related fields among our youth; and, Whereas, Community events at the University of Texas and other venues also will emphasize the importance of engineering and technology to our society as a whole and to our area industries, in particular; and Whereas, We support the mission of Engineers Week and the Discover Engineering program to inspire more students to pursue careers designing our future and improving our world; Now, Therefore, I, Will Wynn, Mayor of the City of Austin, Texas do hereby proclaim February 17-23, 2008 as Engineers Week in Austin.A copy of the proclamation is attached.
