Join the Central Texas EWeek Organization in its mission to encourage school children to pursue technology careers by introducing role models from the local engineering community. We are looking for a diverse group of engineers to provide hands-on activities that demonstrate teamwork and logical processes while discussing their jobs and their enthusiasm for engineering.  Come learn about our volunteer opportunities and how you can join in sharing the world of engineering with local students, elementary through high school.

The focus of this site is on you folks. Without you EWEEK cannot happen. We are trying to add features to improve our programs. There is a new volunteer FAQ which we hope will address your concerns about everything from our volunteer database to your responsibility for an event. If your question is not answered in this list contact us.

You can either sign up to be a team lead or a team member. As a team lead you will be responsible for contacting the school to schedule a visit, building a team of volunteers (we will help you do this), picking an experiment and gathering the supplies needed, and leading your team on the school visit. We will provide training so don't worry if you have never done this before. As a team member you will participate on a team of other engineers to go into a classroom and do an activity with the kids. Both of these volunteer opportunities only require a minimal time commitment, yet they can make a huge difference in a child's life.

If you sign up to be a team lead you will be contacted in early January with your school assignment. Team leader training sessions will be scheduled shortly thereafter. If you sign up to be a team member you will be contacted either directly by a team lead or by broadcast e-mails listing available team opportunities during the team building period which generally starts early February and continues until the end of the school year.
