The Harmony School of Science is gearing up for their annual science fair for 4th through 8th graders and they are in need of judges. As this is one of Austin’s science charter schools, the level of the projects to be judged are typically very high. Last year, several of the students advanced to the state-wide science fair with one advancing to the international level. To be a judge, you must have a professional interest in science (grad students qualify as having a professional interest) and be willing to spend most of a Saturday participating in the judging (and eating the two free meals provided). The three judging categories are life sciences, physical sciences, engineering/computers/mathematics. You will only judge projects in your area of specialty. The judging will take place on December 12, 2009, beginning at 8:00 a.m. The tentative schedule is:
8am – breakfast for the judges
9am – judging begins
12noon – pizza lunch
1pm – awards ceremony
